Fair Usage Policy

Our services are built on shared infrastructure. This Fair Usage Policy explains how resources are used fairly, the limits that keep the platform fast and stable for everyone, and the activities that are not permitted.

Effective date: September 15, 2026 Last updated: September 15, 2026 Applies to: myoffshore.host

1 Purpose & Scope

This Fair Usage Policy ("Policy") applies to all Services provided by MyOffshore through myoffshore.host, and forms part of our Terms of Service. Its purpose is to ensure that our shared platform remains fast, reliable, and secure for all customers.

On shared and similar environments, many customers use the same physical infrastructure. A small number of accounts consuming a disproportionate amount of resources can degrade performance for everyone. This Policy sets reasonable expectations so that resources are shared fairly. By using our Services, you agree to comply with this Policy.

2 What "Fair Use" Means

"Unlimited" or generous allowances offered on some plans are intended for normal website operation — hosting the files, databases, and traffic of a typical website within its plan tier. They are not intended to support:

  • Storing files unrelated to an active, functioning website (for example, a personal media, backup, or file-sharing archive);
  • Running resource-intensive applications that consistently strain shared infrastructure;
  • Using a single account as infrastructure for many unrelated third parties.

In short, fair use means using the resources your website genuinely needs, without negatively affecting other customers on the same server.

3 Resource Usage Limits

Each plan includes defined resource allowances. The table below summarises typical limits; the exact figures for your plan are shown on its product page and may differ. Where "your plan's limit" appears, insert the limit applicable to your plans.

ResourceTypical LimitNotes
CPU1–2 coresSustained maximum per account
Physical Memory (RAM)1–2 GBProcesses exceeding this may be terminated
Entry Processes20Concurrent connections executing scripts
Number of Processes (NPROC)100Total simultaneous processes
I/O Throughput5–10 MB/sDisk read/write speed
Inodes (files)250,000Total number of files and folders
These limits protect all customers on shared infrastructure. If your website consistently approaches them, it is usually a sign that a higher plan (VPS or dedicated resources) would serve you better.

4 CPU, RAM & Processes

Your account is allocated a share of CPU, memory, and process capacity. Individual processes or scripts that exceed the allocated limits — or that run for excessively long periods — may be automatically throttled or terminated to preserve overall server stability.

Common causes of high resource use include unoptimised code, poorly configured plugins, missing database indexes, and heavy cron jobs. We recommend optimising your application and scheduling intensive tasks during off-peak hours.

5 Disk Space & Inodes

Disk space must be used primarily for the content of a live, functioning website. In addition to storage size, accounts are subject to an inode limit — the total number of files and directories. A very large number of small files (for example, cache fragments or mail queues) can affect server performance even when disk space is available.

To stay within fair use, periodically remove unused files, old backups, and unnecessary logs, and keep your file count reasonable.

6 Bandwidth & Traffic

Bandwidth allowances are intended for normal web traffic to and from your website. Excessive or abnormal traffic patterns — such as acting as a content delivery source for external sites, video streaming beyond normal levels, or automated high-volume requests — may exceed fair use even where a plan is marketed as "unmetered".

7 Email Usage

Where email is included, it is intended for normal business and personal correspondence. To protect deliverability and prevent abuse, sending limits (for example, 300–500 messages per hour per account) may apply. The following are not permitted:

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) or purchased mailing lists;
  • Operating high-volume mailing platforms from shared hosting;
  • Configuring mail in a way that harms the reputation of shared mail servers.

For large or frequent mailings, we recommend a dedicated email delivery service.

8 Backups & Storage

Any backup features we provide are a courtesy to help you recover your website, not a general-purpose storage or archiving service. You remain responsible for keeping your own independent backups. We may limit or remove backup data that is disproportionate to the size of your active website.

9 Prohibited Uses

Regardless of resource usage, the following activities and content are strictly prohibited on our Services:

  • Any content that exploits or endangers minors, or that is otherwise illegal;
  • Fraudulent schemes, phishing, scams, or deceptive financial operations;
  • Malware, viruses, botnets, or command-and-control infrastructure;
  • Tools or activity used for hacking, password cracking, IP spoofing, or vulnerability scanning against third parties;
  • Denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks or any attempt to compromise networks or systems;
  • Distribution of pirated software, media, or other material that infringes intellectual property;
  • Unlicensed pharmaceutical, financial, or other regulated activity;
  • Cryptocurrency mining or other continuously resource-intensive processing on shared plans;
  • Content that is defamatory, harassing, or that incites violence or hatred.
Prohibited content and activities may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund, and unlawful activity may be reported to the relevant authorities.

10 Resource Sharing & Reselling

Unless you are on a plan that expressly permits it, you may not resell, sublease, or share your account's resources with unrelated third parties. Accounts found operating as unauthorised reseller or multi-tenant infrastructure may be suspended.

11 Monitoring & Enforcement

We monitor overall platform health and individual resource usage to protect service quality. Where an account exceeds fair use or breaches this Policy, we will, wherever reasonably possible, take a proportionate approach:

  • Notifying you and giving you an opportunity to optimise or reduce usage;
  • Temporarily throttling or limiting the offending processes;
  • Recommending or requiring an upgrade to a more suitable plan.

However, where an account poses an immediate risk to security, stability, or other customers, we may act without prior notice.

12 Consequences of Violation

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, consequences may include throttling of resources, temporary suspension, additional charges for excess usage, a required plan upgrade, or termination of the Service. Serious or repeated violations, and any illegal activity, may result in immediate termination without refund.

13 Upgrades & Dedicated Resources

If your website has genuinely outgrown a shared plan, this is a positive sign of growth. We offer higher-tier plans — such as VPS and dedicated resources — that provide guaranteed capacity and greater flexibility. Our team is happy to recommend the right option for your workload.

14 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our infrastructure, plans, or industry standards. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
